Grand Place Lights Up

The Grand Place lights up at 10.00 pm in summer.

Mussels in Brussels

Moules et Frites is a popular main dish of mussels and fries. It is the national dish of Belgium.

Dinner at Brussels Brasserie

We had dinner here in front of the square while waiting for the sun to set.

Grand Place

This square offers the finest example of Belgium's 17th century architecture and is a World Heritage Site. The earlier buildings here were destroyed by the French and were rebuilt.

We reached here at 8.50 pm and it was still bright. We decided to have our dinner here while waiting for the sun to set.

Stockel Station

This is the eastern  terminal station of Line 1. Tintin murals are on both sides of the platform walls. There are 140 characters here from The Adventures of Tintin. The sketches here were made by the artist himself just before his death.

We wanted to see the Grand Place at night. Since the sun sets late during summer, we decided to go to Stockel Station first and then to the Grand Place.
