It means "Celestial Palace". We did not go up the steep stairs after seeing a couple struggling to come down.

Baphuon

Inside the Bayon
King Jayavarman VII has erected 54 gothic towers in the Bayon decorated with 216 smiling faces resembling the king himself.
The Bayon has a total of 1.2 km of extraordinary bas reliefs incorporating more than 11,000 figures.
