Inside the Bayon

King Jayavarman VII has erected 54 gothic towers in the Bayon  decorated with 216 smiling faces resembling the king himself.

 

 

The Bayon has a total of 1.2 km of extraordinary bas reliefs incorporating more than 11,000 figures.
