Megalochori

Megalochori is a picturesque village on the Island of Santorini dating back to the 17th Century.

There is a maze of cobblestone streets with whitewashed houses and blue roofed churches

The Bell Tower

Megalochori is also the heart of Santorini's wine industry

Akrotiri

Akrotiri is a Minoan town preserved just like Pompeii. The excavations here have uncovered one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean.

A model of the site

The first habitation at the site dates from the 4th Century  BC

Akrotiri was buried by the Theran eruption in the 2nd Century BC and as such was remarkably preserved like Pompeii.

Hotel Daedalus

This is our hotel. It  is just 3 minutes walk to the shopping area.

Breakfast in the hotel

We had our breakfast early so that we can walk to the shopping area again

Fira at night

We walked around the area until 10.30 pm before walking back to the hotel

We made a note to come back here tomorrow to take a picture here

This is an opener
( I wonder if it has another purpose)
